Conflux Staff
Ashley Naron
Owner, Creative Lead, Story teller
Sometime in 2019, Ashley came up with the initial concept for Conflux and then promptly said, “That would be a cool idea. Fortunately for me, I’m not stupid enough to try to run my own LARP. I’m content running stuff at other games.” Six years, one pandemic, a change in gender and an excess of unhinged hubris later, Ashley decided that they would actually run their own LARP and thus Conflux was officially born.
Ashley has been LARPing since 2014 and has over five years experience running content at two other games previously. They love emotionally-intense, plot-driven games where the players have to work together to overcome challenges. Their ultimate goal for Conflux is to build a game that fosters both in-and-out of play community.

Robert
New Player Liaison, Safety Lead, Story Teller, All Around Problem
Robert has been LARPing since 2011 and has run content at multiple other LARPs. They have been around since Ashley came up with the idea for Conflux and have been helping refine the lore and game system.
They enjoy running content that challenges characters and players with interesting mods that involve physical challenges. Having a hand in many facets of LARP, they help with props, rules, safety and new player experiences.
Lynn Davies
New Player Liaison, Lore, Monsters, Being a Menace
Lynn is to blame for introducing Ashely to LARP (you’re welcome), and has been LARPing since 2013. It has been a forever game master since 2005, and was part of plot team for Xadune.
Lynn enjoys running a variety of content types, including explorations of the setting, monster of the month, horror, comedy, and, it’s personal favorite, the conces of your quences. It’s here for the joy of play, and to see how bad the players can break it’s mod.

Jonathan
Creative Team, Art Lead, Player Liaison
Jonathan (he/him) has been involved in LARP both as a player and game runner for some time now, and is one of the resident art/story/graphics types here at Conflux. Long form and slow burn stories are what brings him most joy, alongside the joy of occasionally jump scaring his friends in the woods.
Corbin
Marketing, Mediation, Writing, Feral NPC Duty
After retiring from an international gaming coordinator role in the 2010s Corbin was prepared to step back from staff roles in order to enjoy the life of a player full time. In the 2020s a nerd with a dream bribed them with pocket trinkets and snacks to join the Conflux staff.
Corbin has been roleplaying for 26 years and LARPing for 13 of those years. Their previous experience includes: administrative roles, content database development, written content, and NPC role deployment under short notice. They love telling stories that challenge players to ask themselves “why” their characters make the choices those characters do. Corbin does this through horror stories, tragedy, difficult choices, heroism, and light hearted stories about absurdity. They believe strongly in developing skills in play that help translate out of play, with the ultimate goal of supporting player’s development in real world spaces.

Jamie Whailen
New Players Liaison, Rules and Mechanics, Craft Cat, Mental Health/Bleed Monitor
Jamie was lured into LARPing in 2017 by Ashley and has bounced around different LARPs since, typically getting handed some sort of staff role for the perpetual bad luck of being both exceedingly competent, and unable to not act upon it. Jamie has frequently been the one to find just how far a character can reach within the limits of the rules (and how hard that might break the balance of a game).
When Ashley wanted to start a LARP, he first checked his best friend for a fever. Having established that Ashley was not in fact sick, merely overachieving once more, he signed on to help build props, stress test rules, and generally help out wherever would be needed. A career in the field of Mental Health means he also got placed as Player Liaison and in charge of helping players navigate bleed and interpersonal problems both in and out of play. Up to and including suggesting they perhaps choose therapy over LARPing.
Lauren Blair
Lore, Organization, Red-pen Fun-killer
Lauren has been making stories and building worlds in her head since she was even smaller than she is as an adult. When Ashley mentioned that they would be starting up their own LARP, she immediately offered to be an editing resource and general hole-poker in creating the lore and history.
Nothing brings her joy like creating worlds that have depth and complexity but also make sense. She’s also a compulsive organizer, which plays nicely with her day job of editor and her job at Conflux as the Loreganizer.

Rowan Whailen
Admin, Shenanigan Team, A Real Life Fae
In 2015, Rowan was officially made a member of Ashley’s circle by marrying his best friend. He has spent much of that time casually tempting those around him to do things they want to do. Ashley’s talk of starting a LARP was no different and at the first mention of Conflux, Rowan’s first response was “I can make the character sheets”. And so he did.
Rowan runs backend admin support for Conflux. With a background in making spreadsheets go brrr without actually knowing any coding, he was put on the digital admin team. Though he has some limited experience with LARPing and costuming, he has been doing text based roleplay online since 2004 and has been writing fantasy since 2001, however his strengths truly lie in herding cats and being the executive half of an executive function.
