New Player Process

So you want to join Conflux as a new player?

We’re jazzed to have you! Here’s the new player onboarding process and what you can expect from us:

  1. If you haven’t already, please join the Conflux Discord. We use Discord as the primary communication method for the game.
  2. Read the rulebook, lore and bloodlines content. No, seriously.  If you want help navigating or breaking down the rulebook, try our Character and Setting Primer
  3. Fill out the forms under the New Player section of the website. If you plan to monster for a while before building your player character or if you have ideas for a character that you want to run by staff, you can skip the New Character form and only fill out the New Player form. Make sure to check the box to let us know you want to schedule some time to talk to one of our player liaisons!
  4. We’ll review new submissions on a minimum of a weekly basis.
  5. If you’ve submitted a New Character form, we’ll review your submission and backstory and will reach out to you to let you know whether it’s been accepted as-is or whether we’d like to meet to talk through some recommended changes.
  6. If you’ve submitted a New Player form and selected that you want to meet with a Player Liason, we’ll reach out to you to schedule some time.
  7. Submit your starting items using This Form.
  8. Make sure that you buy your event ticket and register for the event you plan to attend. If you are a brand new player, we strongly recommend that you reach out to us a minimum of two weeks before a given event. Leading up to an event, we’re going to be focused on making the event happen and will have limited time for onboarding activities. We’ll do our best, but our best won’t be as good as it normally is.
  9. At the event, make sure that you prioritize attending the opening announcements, new player orientation and the mandatory combat safety course. If for some reason you can’t get on site early enough to make those meetings, please email us in advance if possible so that we can make alternate arrangements for you. If you just show up on site after game on without warning, we’ll do our best to fit you in, but our top priority will be on running the game for everyone.
  10. If you have any questions about your onboarding process, you can reach out to us in the questions channel on the Discord or by using the Contact Us form on the website.
